Who are the people that operate Build A Life Foundation?

 Anita Mahadeo- Founder/Director

Ms. Anita Mahadeo is a Social Worker by profession, currently employed by the state, where she provides therapeutic interventions for children and families. She is also Level 1 certified in Sign Language and certified in counselling adolescents. With several years of experience working in a reputable non-profit organization and a history of volunteering with various charitable groups across Trinidad and Tobago, Ms. Mahadeo brings deep compassion and dedication to her work. She is especially passionate about supporting youth and is driven by a vision to inspire others to help the less fortunate across the country. As Founder and Director, she oversees all operations of the Build A Life Foundation, ensuring that its mission to uplift children and families in need is carried out with care and integrity.

Vishaal Mahase- Director

Mr. Vishaal Mahase serves as a Procurement Coordinator at a reputable oil and gas company and is actively involved in various individual projects that reflect his drive and diverse interests. He has a strong passion for sports, particularly football and is a dedicated member of his local community sports groups, regularly participating in tournaments and events. As one of the legal owners of the Build A Life Foundation, Mr. Mahase plays a key role in ensuring the organization operates in full compliance with its policies, bylaws, and ethical standards. His commitment to integrity and accountability supports the Foundation’s mission and long-term sustainability.

Sherika Ziegler- Director 

Mrs. Sherika Ziegler is a registered nurse with over 15 years of experience, currently working in the private healthcare sector. She is also pursuing Midwifery to further expand her professional expertise. With a deep passion for elderly care, Mrs. Ziegler has served in nursing roles both locally and internationally, including six years of experience abroad. In addition to her professional accomplishments, she is a devoted mother and fluent in German. As one of the legal owners of the Build A Life Foundation, Mrs. Ziegler supports the Directors by contributing to key decision-making processes and ensuring the Foundation stays true to its mission and values.

Vikash Samuel- Public Relations Officer

Mr. Vikash Samuel is a dedicated Police Officer in Trinidad and Tobago and an active member of his community. With a strong commitment to service, he is involved in various charitable organizations across the country and is driven by a deep passion for helping others. In addition to his public service, Mr. Samuel is also a business owner who continually seeks meaningful ways to make a positive impact in the lives of those around him. Within the Build A Life Foundation, he plays a vital role by chairing events and overseeing the Foundation’s publicity efforts, helping to raise awareness and foster community engagement.

Videsh Nandlal- Welfare Officer 

Mr. Videsh Nandlal is a dedicated Police Officer in Trinidad and Tobago and an active member of his community. Passionate about community involvement, he participates in various local groups and is an avid cricket enthusiast, frequently taking part in community tournaments. Mr. Nandlal is known for his compassionate nature and strong commitment to helping others through his work with the Build A Life Foundation. He plays a key role in ensuring that monthly sponsorships are fulfilled efficiently and on time. In addition to his public service, he is a skilled electrician and successful business owner, bringing both practical expertise and heart to the Foundation’s mission

Shavana Mahadeo- Youth Officer

Mrs. Shavana Mahadeo is a professional Medical Laboratory Technician employed within the government health sector. In addition to her medical profession, she is a skilled seamstress and entrepreneur, creating beautiful custom pieces through her own business. Mrs. Mahadeo is known for her kind, approachable nature and her ability to connect well with children. She is passionate about volunteerism and committed to making a positive impact in her community. As a member of the Build A Life Foundation, she plays an important role in coordinating children’s events and actively supports the management of sponsorships, particularly in sourcing school supplies for children in need.

Amit Seeth- Board Member  

Mr. Amit Seeth is a dedicated Secondary School Teacher and a professional Draftsman, recognized for his academic excellence with the President's Medal for Technical Studies in 2011. He is deeply passionate about working with children and is committed to serving others with compassion and humility. Known for his generous spirit, Mr. Seeth often goes above and beyond to assist those in need during his personal time. Within the Build A Life Foundation, he plays a versatile role, supporting various aspects of the organization’s operations. He is well known among the families we serve, as he consistently volunteers each month to deliver sponsorship items across Trinidad, strengthening the Foundation’s connection with the community.
